Crochet Bear – free amigurumi pattern
Would you like to crochet this basic little bear in a sweater? He is fairly easy to make, his body and head are all one piece.
Here is what you will need:
- Yarn in brown and pink or any other contrasting color calling for a 3,5 mm hook.
- Size 2.5 mm crochet hook
- Poly-Fil Fiberfill stuffing
- 10 mm black safety eyes
- Embroidery floss in black and white color
- Yarn needle, stitch marker, pins and scissors
What did I use?
Very soft 2 sport yarn – Yarn Art Jeans from Turkey (55 % Cotton, 45% Acrylic)

With brown yarn
R1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
R2: 1 inc in all st (12)
R3: (3 sc, 1 inc) * 3 times (15)
R4-5: 1 sc in all st (15)
R6: 5 invisible dec, 5 sc (10)
R7: 5 sc, connect yarn in pink color at the last step of next sc (Photos 1 and 2), 4 sc (10)

R8-15 (8 rows): 1 sc in all st (10)
Stuff bottom part of leg, turn the detail so that the invisible decreases made in R6 is facing you before closing stitches. Fold the leg in half as shown on Photo 3. Before closing stitches I crochet 1 Sc to the outer side stitch (you may need a different number of sc). Start closing round.
R16. Crochet the opposite stitches with 5 sc (the 1st sc is hard to crochet, use a smaller hook for convenience), Photo 4, cut the yarn and pull the end of yarn through the last stitch completely (Photo 5).

Hind legs
With brown yarn
R1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
R2: 1 inc in all st (12)
R3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 times (18)
R4: 1 sc, 1 invisible dec, 7 sc, 1 inc, 6 sc, do not crochet the last stitch and pull the marker out
R5: 2 invisible dec (pin marker to 2nd dec), 7 sc, 2 inc, 6 sc (18)
R6: 1 sc in all st (18)
R7: 1 invisible dec, 8 sc, 1 inc, 7 sc (18)
R8-9: 1 sc in all st (18)
Enlarge the loop and cut the yarn.
Crochet the 2nd leg, but do not cut the yarn (Photo 7), start to join legs from this one.
Body
R1: 1 sc, ch 4, take the 1st leg, place enlarged loop back on a hook and tighten (Photos 8 and 9), insert the hook into the next st, yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook, Photo 10), yarn over and pull the yarn through all loops on the hook (Photo 11), 17 sc around the 1st leg, 4 sc in the chain of 4ch’s, 18 sc around the 2nd leg, 4 sc in the chain of 4 ch’s (44, Photos 12 and 13), next stitch will be a new beginning of the following rounds.

R21. Work BLO: 1 sc in all st (20), continue crocheting a head without cutting yarn

Place the muzzle on front of the head and fasten it with pins, sew with the end of yarn that we left before as shown on Photo 25. Fasten and cut the yarn, hiding the ends inside the head.

Make 2 details. Fold the ears as shown on Photo 26
Place the ears symmetrically on the top of the head between 14 and 23 rnds and fasten them with pins as shown on Photos 27 and 28. Sew the ears with the ends of brown yarn that we left before (Photo 29). Fasten and cut the yarn, hiding the ends inside the head.

Embroider eyebrows between 15 and 16 rnds of the head using 6-strand of embroidery floss in black color as shown on Photo 30

Scarf
With pink yarn
Ch4
R1: start from 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc, ch1, turn
R2-R33. work BLO: 3 sc, ch1, turn
R34. work BLO: 3 sc, cut the yarn, leave a long end for sewing, thread it into a needle and sew on bear.
