Easy Crochet Snowflake – Free Pattern
This Free Crochet Snowflake Pattern would be great to use as ornaments, garland, wall hangings, and clothes decoration. It is super fast to make and looks very pretty. You can crochet some snowflakes for garland combining smaller and larger ones (use thinner and heavier yarn weight). Crochet these snowflakes to trim the Christmas tree especially a Scandinavian minimalist tree.
You are free to choose the yarn and hook according to your own personal preference, but I recommend a DK or Sport weight. Do not forget to match your hook properly with the chosen yarn.
Here is what you will need:
- Sport weight yarn in white colour.
- Size US C/2 (2.5 mm) crochet hook
- Needle and scissors

Let’s start!
Make a magic loop from white yarn (Photo 1).
Round 1: sc, [ch5, 2 sc (Photo 2)] x 4 or 5 times * , ch5, sc, pull one end of the loop to tighten it, close the round with a slst into top of the first sc (Photo 4)
* If you use smaller hook size and thinner yarn than recommended, repeat 5 times (there will be six ch5-chains in total)
Round 2: in the 5ch-chain crochet the following combination: 3 sc (Photo 5), [ch3, slst into the back bump on the back side of the 1st ch of 3ch-chain (Photo 6 and 7)] x 3 (Photo 8), 3 sc (Photo 9), repeat the same into all 5ch-chains. Cut the yarn, thread the needle, and weave in ends.
